Perhaps it's just me. Maybe my time as a successful dream owner has come and gone and now I'll spout day-dreams like Tiponya and note them as 'the good ole' days'. Perhaps my lack of friends on this game has forced my dream-making skills to stale and grow blue fuzz on the corners. Perhaps my dreams aren't exactly a style many people find attractive anymore?
I've always said that the people of the equine community are just that - a herd. They'll graze on whatever greener pastures there are before moving to the next big thing to hit the dream-scene. It's unfortunate how many good dream owners I see flushed away by the lack of interest just because a group of their friends rather stay in the popular dream, never giving that great potential a fair chance to shine.
I read the Furcadia Lingo. I read Emerald Flame's - How to make a successful dream. Involving the public seems to be a lot of these lectures underlining theme. If that's the case, then, why when a dream pops up with super involvement do people find it uninteresting? You could say that perhaps it's the genre of dream. That, I'll give to you as that's probably the god-given truth.
To be honest; people of the equine community are lazy.
OOC is like watching the grass grow. Why you'd do it? Because everyone else jumped ship and you look like an idiot for not joining them. Don't get me wrong, there are a select few that actually role-play their characters but this seems to be once in every blue moon... atleast until the group of friends decide it's a good idea.
I find the lack of people getting involved in the community frustrating. I created Prestige Academy with the hopes that people would want to get involved. Their human/furre alts. could go to class, lesson on a horse and compete against each other. I read Kisco's complaint on TCS's boards about the lack of people showing up for shows. May I be the first to agree out in the open? True, I haven't shown up for shows before, but then I've held shows and no one signs up, especially when they're the exact same set-up as Kisco's, Wyndlily's or anyone else for that matter that are known to holding good events.
I'm not sitting here complaining or bitching about how I'm not popular anymore. Believe me, if I wanted to do that, I'd do it in the silence of my room in a dark, abyssmal corner. What I am sitting here and doing is commenting about how lazy the community is. What would make a good wake up call? Stricter rules on OOC? "Don't do that shit unless you're in The Wylde" or something? I can't stand OOC in my dreams. It's useless. I create my dreams for people to role-play in; not talk about reality. Reality is to escape when you join Furcadia or any other video game for that matter, am I wrong or completely off? But then again, I'm not a very social person. And it's a shame that my enemies on Furcadia are some of the best patchers, dream makers or role-players that only hinder to the inactivity of role-play and the soul of the equestrian community. All because of stupid shit.
Yes, I slapped the face of the very people who made IFS so popular. Yes, I slapped the face of a few people whom hold grudges against me for no real substanance reason. And yes, I'll slap those faces again if this rears in my presence again. I think I have the right.
*sigh* That's my rant.
