Haleigh entered the racing barn quietly. The oversized black hoodie she had pulled over her head made her look tiny, even more delicate than usual. Her bootsteps echoed in the building; many horses were asleep and the grounds were generally quiet at such an hour. Nevertheless, the dim stall lights provided just enough lumination for her to judge the stable's latest acquisition, a mare by the name of "Afternoon Delight" -- or at least, that's what the clipboard read. Folding her arms on the top of the stall, Leigh peered in, clucking her tongue quietly. "Hey, Noon," She cooed, standing on tiptoe to better see inside. "Let me take a look at you."

Nape was held low at the height of dove's withers, visionaries shut to allow Noon to rest. Twin towers relaxed atop skull, nares expanding, carrying oxygen through to lungs. Whipcord dangled limply from rump, spilling upon hocks, one of her four hooves tipped up. Harks suddenly erected, once receiving Leigh's voice and her clucks, serpentine lifting to its normal height, cerebrum brought with it. Attention was drawn toward the bi-ped, optics focusing on her figure. Soft, low nicker of greeting soon escaped larynx, appendages lifting, bringing banshee towards the door of her stall. Whipcord began swaying from one side to the other, tickling hocks as they did so. Oh, what a joy it was have company!

The husky furre smiled warmly as the mare's nicker reached her ears. "Good morning, honey," She whispered hoarsely, not trying to start a big commotion in the barn. Leigh reached forward in an attempt to rub the mare's muzzle, provided she allowed it and refrained from shying away. "Aren't you pretty?" Her eyes had adjusted well to the poor light in the barn at this hour, and she could take stock of the Thoroughbred's conformation and hue. 'Pretty chestnut,' She thought. 'I bet she'd make an excellent brood mare.'

Optics locked onto Leigh, nares expanding to bring in her unfamiliar scent, memorizing it. Pendulum dangled uselessly from the center of rump, occasionally swaying and tickling hocks, with each movement dove made. Twin towers swiveled atop skull, before erecting toward the bi-ped. Top labrium lifted, lipping gently at her extended paw, scenting it as well. Jaws parted, revealing large ivories, another soft, low nicker of greeting escaping larynx, after rumbling up banshee's throat. Cranium was suddenly swung upward and to one side, before carried in the opposite direction. Actions were repeated for a few seconds, until flame-kissed dove paused, taking a small step forward.

Haleigh was pleased. She found the mare quite friendly so far, an important characteristic for a broodmare. Making a mental note to tell Sasha about her, she leaned backwards at the waist, glancing at the clipboard hanging outside the stall. As far as she could tell, no other furre or human had made a note on the sheet of paper, stating an interest in ownership. "Excellent," She purred aloud. Gently, the furre reached forth in an attempt to scratch the mare's cheekbone for a moment before backing away. "I'll be back in the late morning, love. I have to go water down the ring," Leigh explained, as if the mare could truly understand. (My next post will be be returning in the late morning to "play" with her some more. )

Occulars turned toward Leigh, watching her leave. Great sigh was heaved, ivories revealed, which began taking strands of hay into dove's mouth and chewing them, before swallowing. The crickets' chirping caught her attention, though their sounds were quite familiar. the air became cooler; a sign that night was on its way. Noon stood quietly in her stall, auds relaxing upon cerebrum, eyelids pulling over optics, as boa lowered to the height of withers once again, allowing flame-kissed banshee to rest.

(Yeah, the "my friend is leaving " posts are always kinda short.) Haleigh made her way to Delight's stall in the late afternoon, just like she'd promised. Morning work-outs, feeding, and mucking had taken up most of her hours thus far. The short fur on her forehead was glued down with sweat in all the right places, making it obvious she'd been wearing a helmet earlier. "Hey, babe," She purred, glancing through the bars of the stall as she took the dame's lead rope in her hand. "Told you I'd be back."

Twin towers recieved a familiar voice, causing nape to crane around and orbs to lock onto Leigh's figure. Banshee neared her stall door, chocolate pendulum, dangling from rump, gently swinging this way and that. Jaws parting, same soft, low nicker of greeting given toward the bi-ped. Boa extended toward Haleigh, lipping at her paw, which had grabbed her lead rope. She paused a moment, then sniffed her paw, before nickering once again.

Haleigh undid the latch preventing her from accessing the horse. "Let's see how you move, yes?" Sliding the hefty wooden door ajar, she let herself in. If the cinnamon-hued mare allowed it, Leigh would clip the buisness-end of the rope to the middle O-ring of the femme's nylon halter. "That's a good girl," She cooed softly, watching the mare's ears for emotion.

Auds flickered a bit, before swiveling forward, prepared for any sounds Leigh might send towards her. Optics rested inside their sockets, occasionally glancing about the barn in search for danger, though unsurprisingly finding none. Nape shook a little, ridding fairly tangled tresses of dirt and dust. Limbs lifted from the soft bedding beneath her and carried dove's body backward a bit, to give Leigh room to enter her stall. She stood still and calm, allowing the bi-ped to clip the rope onto her halter.

Now safely inside the stall, the furre could get a better look at the mare. Estimating the mare's height with a glance at the withers, she looked for any scars or lumps, anything to depreciate the value of the animal. Stuffed in her back pocket was a relatively new nylon lunge line, loosely bunched and only partially contained by the flap of material. Briskly, Leigh patted the femme's upper neck, the muffled patting noise quite audible in the relatively quiet barn. "That's a good girl." Turning away from the chestnut equine, she pushed the door all the way open, creating a means of exit. After a deep breath, the husky stepped forward, expecting the mare to follow along with her.

Nape lowered and curved around, carrying skull toward where Leigh was standing to watch as she seemed to scan her coat. She gave the bip-ped a little nudge on her shoulder and lifted her neck again. When the door to her stall was opened, she knew exactly what that meant. Time to get out and move! Can't do that in your stall, now can you? So Noon took a couple steps toward Haleigh, giving her another gentle nudge on her back, anxious to get going.

Haleigh laughed lightly. "Aren't you cute?" She glanced over her shoulder, grinning. As long as the mare was gentle, she wouldn't mind the light nudging. The husky furre turned down the aisle, walking at a steady pace and navigating around the rafter supports. Knowing the indoor arena would be empty, or close to it, at this hour, she had decided on this as her destination. Walking through the doorway, she glanced around the massive arena with great interest, and upon finding no one there, slowly made her way to the opposite end of the room, leading the chestnut equine beside her. "Let's see how you do lunging," Leigh pondered aloud as she halted, waiting for the animal to stop before rotating about-face to watch her.
(This darn RP has been going on for almost a month! I think we need to bite the bullet and actually RP in-game. I'll be on from 2PM FST tomorrow, let me know if you think you'll be around to RP. xD)
