Keep in mind that this dream is rated PG-13. Swearing is allowed, but racial/derogatory slurs are not. Mild amounts of violence are allowed. Breeding is permitted in secluded areas.
1. IC Rule: Unless you are in the main gate, you are considered to be In Character(IC), and the other inhabitants of the dream will accept your presence and post about/to you. You are exempt from this only if you place "OOC" at the end of your description. However, you are expected to remain silent and refrain from speaking or posing.
2. Aging Rule: All horses are considered to age one year on January 1st. This is simply to keep things uniform, and so that people don't try to 'sneak' years onto their character.
3. Owner's Rights Rule: By roleplaying a feral animal, you essentially hand over your 'rights' -- to either TREC in general, or your owner. The owner calls the shots. They decide if you should be bred, to whom you should be bred, whom you are turned out with, etc.; as this is exactly how it is in the real world, which is why we follow this rule quite closely. You can obviously discuss things OOC if things are really bugging you, but it -is- the owner's decision to choose what to do with you IC.
4. Roleplaying Device Rule: When roleplaying, devices such as 'fading to black'*, 'retcon'(only in SERIOUS, injury/death-related scenarios)**, and 'timestops'***(which do NOT just have to be used for combat) are PERFECTLY LEGAL. This is why you should ALWAYS ask before jumping into a roleplay. For more information on these devices, we invite you to investigate this article, Mastering the Art of Strict Roleplaying****, from the Furcadia website.
5. Serious Effect Rule: Anyone wishing to play out an event that could seriously affect your character and/or others must discuss it with the dream owner first. A prime example of this is a contagious disease.
6. Property Escape Rule: The property is generally considered inescapable. There is a seven-foot-high stone wall 'encasing' the property save for two entry gates, which will only open for vehicles or a key. When it opens for a vehicle, it will automatically close after 30 seconds; when opened with a key, it must be manually shut but the sheer size of the gate makes it relatively impossible to forget about. Also, the property is nearly completely surrounded by pine trees that come right up to the fences, making them relatively impenetrable. (Remember, this complex was built with intelligent, large eventing horses in mind!)
7. Spiffy Dream Rule: It is -everyone's- responsibility to keep the center clean. Sweep the aisles, clear the chicken eggs, clean up after yourself at the feeding area, and water the horses whenever you see an empty trough.
8. Substance Rule: The use of drugs and alcohol are strictly prohibited on TREC property.
9. Speaking Rule: Feral animals don't talk in character. Period.
10. Wild Animal Rule: True 'ferals', in the sense of wild and/or untamed animals, are not permitted on TREC property. We don't have stray animals just wandering about.
11. Idling Rule: Don't idle in front of doors. Generally, the only place to idle is your stall or an unclaimed stall, or the OOC area.
12. Dream Damage Rule: Do not directly damage the dream. Examples of this include kicking in walls, breaking fences, breaking windows, etc.
13. Color Rule Violation: Anyone violating the color rule will be given 30 seconds to leave and fix their colors or they will be ejected. This should be whispered to the offending character, NOT emitted.
14. Drama Rule: Do nothing in this dream to cause drama. This includes, but is not limited to, using alts to insult other furres, taking things that /should/ be private and dragging them out into the public, trying to get friends to 'pick sides' in a disagreement, bickering over show/auction results, powergaming/twinking during a roleplay, bringing IC things OOC, or arguing with staff members over a dream-related decision.
15. Turn-Out Rules: No more than three horses should be turned out in a paddock at the same time. No more than six horses should be turned out in the pasture at the same time. These rules include foals at side and 'pasture buddies' such as Miniatures. Also, stallions are -never- to be turned out with mares except for breeding purposes.
16. Mandatory Enjoy-the-Dream Rule: Remember to check out the charter if you're still curious about us or our backstory: geocities.com/furcadiahorses/charter.html Don't forget to have fun!
