The TREC Thoroughbred Program is co-owned by Haleigh Sharphowl and Sasha Adrik. Its purpose is to breed top-quality racing and eventing Thoroughbreds for Furcadia. Horses owned by the program can be seen racing -- and winning -- in all horse dreams on Furcadia.
If you are interested in being owned by the program, here are some things you should consider...
-The program is not "roleplay intensive". What this does NOT mean is that we never roleplay or consider ourselves to be poor roleplayers -- this is not the case. What this DOES mean is that, due to the high numbers of horses owned by the program, we (Sasha and Haleigh) do not spend a lot of one-on-one time with the horses we own, roleplaying with them. Horses need to understand this and be alright with roleplaying with stall neighbors, pasturemates, and the grooms and trainers assigned to them.
-The program is not completely focused on racing. We almost always have room for non-racing, retired mares ready to begin or continue a breeding program. We are not interested in show prospect Thoroughbreds, and we will sell foals that we do not deem to be race-worthy to show prospect homes.
-The program keeps very up-to-date records. This means that after every race you run, you check in and make a reply on your character's thread letting us know the date and the location of the race you participated in, and how you placed -- even if you did not place at all.
-The program only deals with Thoroughbreds. We have no interest in Standardbreds, Arabians, Quarter Horses, etc. Our stallions are available for breeding to non-Thoroughbreds, however, if the purpose is to create a warmblood for eventing purposes, etc.
If you agree with and meet the criteria listed above, there are several ways to be considered for purchase into the program. You may...
-Post a thread on the Classified Ads board. Include important information like age, race results, color, training, and attitude. Pictures are a huge plus. This way, even if you are not purchased by the program, perhaps someone else will see and purchase you.
-Put yourself up for auction. Haleigh and Sasha frequent the CD and TREC auctions and may consider purchasing you there if we see you and are impressed with your post.
-PM us on the forums. Generally, Haleigh handles a lot of the on-forum horse purchasing, so she is probably your best bet. Private message her with your information and she will consider you.
-Contact one of us in-game. This is not recommended if we are idle! We may not get back to you until you are offline. It is generally preferable to whisper us in game -after- you have posted an advertisement on the forums. Send one of us a quick note letting us know that you're for sale and that your information can be found on the forums. We'll take a peek.
