There are a few ground rules for applying for staff here at TREC.
-I am very wary of share-hungry people. VERY WARY. I do not give out share 'easily', most people need to be regulars for a minimum of six months and staff for a minimum of three before I even CONSIDER it. Harassing anyone for share will seriously jeopardize your job.
-With the exception of veterinarians and farriers, TREC must be the ONLY dream in which your alt is employed. I don't care where you work on other alts (although you are free to mention them on your application). Realistically, grooms don't work for four different major show barns. Come on. If you are employed elsewhere but intend to quit to work at TREC, make a note of that on your application.
-Staff members are not excluded from the rules. Snapping at another staff member, being rude to other patrons, or breaking any of the other rules will seriously jeopardize your employment here.
-The "Why Should We Hire You" question is THE MOST IMPORTANT question on the application. None of this cutesy "because you love me111!!11" crap. We're not so desperate for staff that we have to accept EVERY person who applies, and in fact, a lot of people don't get a job at TREC for one reason or another. If you can give me a solid reason as to why you should be working here at TREC, I can give you a job.
-The sample RP post is the second most important question on the application. Make it a good one. For pete's sake, spell check it in Microsoft Word or something before you post it. One or two errors are forgettable, a mistake every sentence is not. Read it out loud before you hit send -- does it sound clear? Does it make sense?
