Day for the Unowned?

I talked about it with Sasha last week, when no one showed up for the auction except Fanta, her, and myself. Perhaps having just an auction was too plain, since every other equine dream ever built seems to be doing that almost every day now. It takes the interest out of it, so, I came up with an idea, and Sasha said it was a pretty good one. That's why I'm suggesting it here first. :>

We could have a day for unowned horses. All types of horses, of course, but with a few events that may only require specific breeds.

There could be claiming races for racing Thoroughbreds, Arabians, and Quarter Horses, as well as a small/medium-sized or whatnot halter show for all breeds. There would be an auction thrown in there as well, probably after all the events for those yet to be sold or claimed.

Though I have alts of my own to sell, I would be happy to host these events if no one else is willing to volounteer. There needn't be one judge/race holder for this, of course. Even staff deserve chances to sell alts.

I currently have no specific date in mind, but because of STAR (California State) testing and my teachers' last-minute attempts to pile information in my head, it may not be until May. It all depends.

So, what do you guys think? Should there be more events? Less? Should I stop while I'm ahead and forget this whole thing?

This would be a good idea.

One thing I've always wanted to do is plan a huge ---IC--- auction. Monetary amounts would be far higher and there would be a sliding scale for what you get for pay, like:

-Dream Owners: $4,000,000
-Barn Managers: $2,000,000

etc., all the way down to the unemployed getting like $5,000.

Buyers would need to register on the forums first and post their status (what dream they're employed at, proof of being employed for more than one week, and their position) AND A SAMPLE ROLEPLAY POST before being allowed to bid. There would be a few breed-specific/type-specific 'time slots': TBs would all be auctioned together, WBs together, Arab/half-Arabs together, and then kind of a 'free-for-all' after that.

This eliminates complete dipshits, noobs who probably shouldn't be buying 8000 horses just yet, and folks that can't roleplay more than a half-para (3 lines, not including speech).

As a SEPERATE event I am ALL for claiming races and if someone would like to host one at TREC, feel free! The next time I upload, the track will have some great renovations and I think you'll all look forward to holding more events there.
